Greg Smyth

Greg Smyth is a Belfast born singer songwriter based in Bedfordshire, England. His musical styles include indie pop, rock and accoustic. Greg counts The Beatles, Tom Petty and Bob Dylan among his biggest influences.

Greg comes from a musical family. His parents toured the United Kingdom and Ireland for over 40 years as an Irish and country band and his brother, Chris, is a musician. Greg's father is also a record producer whose work includes The Undertones classic hit "Teenage Kicks". He has worked with Greg to produce his latest releases.

Greg formed his first band, "The Tunesmyths", with his brother in 1999. Their album, "Anything Goes", proved popular on university campuses. Greg went on to release a solo album entitled "Secret Songs" in 2005, which consisted of 11 original tracks.

Following the shocking death of a close friend and talented musician to a heart attack in July 2019, Greg was inspired to start song writing again. His first song, "Hard Times", was a tribute to his friend. Greg has gone on to release a number of singles since then and his completed album, "Welcome Distraction", is set for release later in 2023.
